In anticipation of safeguarding companies from new risks posed by advancements in quantum computing, SISA, a cybersecurity solutions firm based in Bengaluru, has revealed its plan to introduce services focused on defending the digital payments sector against threats that exploit the enhanced capabilities of quantum computers.

SISA CEO Dharshan Shanthamurthy stated that his company is working to take proactive measures to counter the imminent threats from quantum computing and protect the integrity of financial transactions. He mentioned that the digital payments sector is expected to reach around 24 trillion dollars by 2030, and its ongoing success fundamentally relies on its capacity to enable secure transactions in a quantum-powered environment.

“Preparing for the quantum future isn’t about reacting to certainty but about minimizing uncertainty. Taking proactive steps now toward post-quantum readiness ensures organizations avoid costly and disruptive overhauls in the future,” Dharshan said.

Quantum computing can facilitate computations that are presently unfeasible within a practical timeframe, thereby jeopardizing many current digital security algorithms that depend on encryption methods reliant on complex calculations. They are safe because conventional computers cannot perform these calculations in a timely manner, whereas quantum computing has the potential to alter this.

The announcement indicated that SISA’s new service aligned with the goals of India’s Quantum Mission, which aims to develop new capabilities in quantum technologies, among other objectives.
